Ice Storm Photos

Here are a few photos I took late this afternoon, just after getting home from work. Amazing how beautiful something so potentially dangerous can be. This preaches, doesn't it?

Power Returned

We got our electricity back again at around midnight. It was nice to have the lights and the other conveniences... but a little sad to have that golden moment end... Back to modernity...

Power Outage

We've been without electricity, due to ice storm, since about 10:15 p.m. We've got a fire going in the fireplace and plenty of water stored in plastic containers. Cozy.

Thanksgiving at Tanglewood Acres

We had a really good time this year... good visiting, pretty good health, and LOTS of food! We surely missed Allison and Chris, but we had breakfast with them in the morning, and that was a nice time. Here are some random images from our Tanglewood Acres Thanksgiving:

We got our first snow last night. How beautiful! Our jack-o-lantern, left over from Halloween, didn't seem so happy about it, though...

At the cabin

We got here about 9 p.m. The big excitement along the way was the black bear we saw as we started down the north side of Shade Mountain, near Beaver Springs. It was the first black bear Debbie had seen in the wild. She was really excited!

We'll be picking up Allison to go visit my folks in Venango County in the morning. It's a cozy evening here.

Beautiful Hemlock Home Weekend

It was another beautiful weekend at Hemlock Home, starting off with the kids visiting Friday night, with ultrasound photos of little Baby BOY Gerwick! Woo-hoo! Here are a few photos:

Hemlock Home Weekend

We had an enjoyable weekend at Hemlock Home. We had perfect September weather. It had been three weeks since we'd been there, so we got the yard spruced up and had a nice fire Saturday night. We got to have lunch with Allison on Sunday, before heading back to Berks County.

Picnic

We had a really nice time Saturday with some family from both sides. Lots of food, lots of fun and lots of humidity!
