Vacation at Hemlock Home

We had a great time at Hemlock Home last week. We got to babysit Thad on Tuesday, while Allison attended a meeting at work (East Derry Elementary School). We had a great time. Here are a few photos:

Another Apture test

I was driving along Route 183, near Bernville one day, when, all of a sudden, I got the urge to take a swim in Blue Marsh Lake. It wasn't long before I got hungry, so I decided to drive to Wyomissing and look for a restaurant.

I finally found a place to eat. I decided to go to Smokey Bones, even though I'm not a huge ribs fan. I also had a draft of Sam Adams.

Later, I went home and watched one of my favorite movies, "At the Circus," featuring the Marx Brothers, which includes one of my favorite songs.

Before retiring, even though I don't dabble in the stock market, I decided to see how Google was doing. Then, I decided to check John Boor's LinkedIn profile.

As I closed out the day, I said my prayers, read a book, and hit the hay.

Kids at Hemlock Home, 6/30

We had a nice time Tuesday evening. Allison, Chris and Thad came over for dinner. We grilled chicken, short ribs, hamburgers and potatoes. Of course, we had to take some pictures!

Visit to Tanglewood, 6/29

Debbie, Allison, Thad and I took a trip to visit Mum and Dad on Monday. Here are some photos from our visit. It was a really nice day.

Hemlock Home and the hummingbird

Wow! What a moment! I was sitting right here after mowing just a few moments ago when a hummingbird came up under the porch roof and spent about five minutes, investigating and hovering around.

The amazing part was that, just before she left for good, she hovered for about a half minute within less than a foot from my face! Fantastic!

I was too stunned to remember that I had a camera on this phone... Haha! But it was an awesome experience.
